Lowland Hoodie
Our newest all time free pattern is here and we are absolutely loving it! The Lowland Hoodie is a fairly simple hoodie with a few options including a crossover hood or a Henley hood combo. It also comes with a fun kangaroo pocket that is sewn into the waistband.
This hoodie is meant to be a little oversized and features a wide neck for easy on and off. It pairs really well with all of the Lowland pant patterns but our favorites to pair with are the joggers, slant pocket skinnies, and lounge sweats.

Additional Details:
Fabric: I love to use French Terry for this hoodie. You can make it using any knit but the drape and fit might be a little different. For the binding you can use the same fabric as the body or a coordinating color of ribbing or other knit fabric. Stretch won’t matter too much since it doesn’t need to be stretched in order to go over the head.
Once payment has gone through you will be able to download your files immediately! You will also receive both a confirmation email and an email with a link to download your files. The confirmation email will give you the option to view your order where you can download your files. Lots of options! Be sure to check your promotions/spam/junk folders if the email with the file links doesn't come to your inbox.

- Your files come in a .zip. It’s easiest to download on a computer, unzip, and you’ll see: Instructions, Letter/A4, A0, and a Projector file.
- Printing at home? Open the Letter/A4 PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader and print at 100% (Actual Size), then check the test square.
- Prefer no paper? Use the Projector file. It includes a calibration layer so you can confirm scale before you cut.

Troubleshooting:
- If the whole pattern prints on a single page, you likely opened the wrong file (use Letter/A4, not A0 or Projector).
- If lines look fuzzy or misaligned, try “Print as image,” make sure your printer driver is up to date, and restart your computer.

Great pattern. Made it for my Grand daughter.
I’m very new to sewing but wanted to start making clothing for my kids since cute, natural-material clothing is hard to find for an affordable price, and this came together quickly and so easily. It was my first time doing a binding, and the instructions were so clear and easy! I made my son an organic cotton fleece hoodie, and he was so excited about the pocket. I can’t wait to make more!

The pattern worked very well. I used it as a guide to make a toddlers hoodie out of an adult hoodie. I changed up the pattern a lot. I used the zipper on the adult hoodie and didn't use the cuff for the sleeve or the bottom edge. It turned out really cute!
I love it! At first I wanted to make the Henley version, but I could not line up the button part of the binding properly. I ended up doing the regular one for my 2 y. o. niece.

Amazing pattern. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. I tried both collar and they turned out well. It's an amazing free pattern. A little piece of advice: follow your child measurements, not the size they are wearing in RTW.
I found that pattern easy to follow, I am a seasoned sewest. One thing that you may consider is including your size on the pattern when you print it off, makes it handy when you store patterns with multiple sizes.
Sewed up quickly and easily! I ended up adding a hood lining on one of them just to elevate the look and I was so glad that I did. Thanks Lowland for another great (free!) pattern!

Easy to sew, looks and fits great! I made a contrast hood and used rib knit for the cuffs just to make sure they fit easily. My picky, will-only-wear-short-sleeves grandson loved it!

Super easy to make! I added my own twist while making 2 for expecting mamas
I love the style of this hoodie! This fit very true to size, I used the 2t pattern for my 2 year old. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow, with one exception - I was a little confused with which direction I was supposed to stitch the cuffs and how to fold them before adding them to the sleeves (thankfully I had enough room to cut the seam and fix it). It would be so helpful if the instructions featured a fabric that has a clear direction or to write in whether it's with or against the grain etc to help us newbies! The only adjustment I made was adding an additional layer of fabric to the hood because my fabric was white on the back and I thought that wouldn't look great once it was put together. I'll definitely be making this again! Planning to make ones with the bunny ears for Easter!
