Ribbed Leggings
These (free) ribbed leggings are an amazing staple for any time of the year. They come with three finish options: shorts, full length hemmed, and full length cuffed.
With a slim fit, we highly recommend using a rib knit fabric for these leggings as most rib has ample stretch. If you want to use a fabric with less stretch such as cotton lycra or a fabric with rayon (some rib with a higher rayon content applies), we suggest sizing up in width a size or two. Many testers found that two sizes up worked great for cotton lycra.
Another important measurement to note is the inseam. If you grade the waist/hip measurements and inseam you will get the best fit possible! Because this is a slim fitting pant and many kiddos are so different, most of our testers found that they needed to grade between sizes so please go by the measurement chart! Please read through the instructions before starting!

Troubleshooting:
- If the whole pattern prints on a single page, you likely opened the wrong file (use Letter/A4, not A0 or Projector).
- If lines look fuzzy or misaligned, try “Print as image,” make sure your printer driver is up to date, and restart your computer.

Perfect fit. I initially used a less stretchy fabric, as was recommended not to🙈 and it didn’t work so well. Then I followed the recommendations and it is the best tights ever. Made several since then.
These leggings quickly came together. I've made several pair for both of my granddaughters, ages 3 and 2 months. The terry cloth ones are my favorite! Thanks for an easy pattern and directions!
Really easy to sew. I put 2 pattern’s pieces aside and cut all together so the legging has only one seem.
Lovely pattern to sew up and they fit very well! My sister sewed leggings and hoodie for my baby and I loved them so much I asked her where she got the pattern and now I made a set for my newest niece!😍
This pattern is perfect, just like leggings we buy from a small shop and I feel like I'll never need to buy them again! I sewed the 2T size and they fit my 2 year old perfectly. The only thing I need to work on is keeping the waistband from bunching as I finish it with the topstitch. The ribbed material slips so easily in my sewing machine, especially with the small opening! I'm sure it will help to add more pins next time. I'm excited to be able to use this pattern to make leggings to match every outfit!

It's a great pattern, clear and easy! For my grandchild, the cuffs on the leg were a bit too small so next time I will make them a bit bigger. I will definitely make this pattern again!!
