Octi the Octopus Stuffie
Introducing Octi the Octopus! This adorable stuffie comes in 4 sizes: Small, Regular, Large, and Huge.

- You can use knits or wovens for both the main part of the octopus
and under tentacles. I prefer a thick knit for the main (like cotton ft, one with little stretch) and a plush minky of sorts for the inside of the tentacles. If you’re using french terry, another option is to use the inside of the french terry for the underside!
- Small - 1/2 yard /.5 meters
Regular - 3/4 yard /.75 meters
Large - 1 yard /1 meter
Huge - 1 1/4 yards /1.25 meters
- 1”(25mm) - 1.25” (32mm) plastic safety eyes. NOTE : You can use whatever eye size you’d like but I prefer a bigger eye on mine! I like to use the 1” (25mmcm) eyes on the two smaller sizes and 1.25” (32mm) or even bigger on the two bigger sizes.

- Stuffed animal stuffing (You can use cut up fabric scraps instead of stuffing if you wish)

Beginner-friendly sewing pattern with clear, photo-illustrated instructions that customers said make it "easy to follow." The finished product is "absolutely adorable" with distinctive hooded eyes. Stuffing the tentacles requires patience. Most found it "simple" though a few struggled. Popular gift for all ages.
We loved this pattern! It was a pretty easy sew for a beginner. We made three of them and then ended up making two more for some friends that week! I’m pretty new to sewing, so if I can do it I’m confident anyone can.

This pattern is super simple and easy to follow. I’ve made 5 of them already as gifts and they were a hit! Even made one for our puppy.
Such a fun project to sew up - the photos made it easy for me (still relatively new to sewing) to follow along. I’m planning on making a whole fleet of them for nieces and nephews in all different sizes. Everyone agrees - the hooded eyes are what truly make this pattern special.

The pattern was easy to understand and was easy to sew up. I bought a pack of eyes off of Amazon and they didn't have the colors I wanted, so I bought some sparkle paper to insert into the eyes to get a color that went with my octopus design. Your instructions helped get the eyes in perfectly. I used Lush Fleece for the main body and minky dots for the inside of the tenticals. I don't remember if the instructions mentioned something that can help push the tenticals to right side, but I found a box of unopened kabob sticks in my kitchen to help push the tenticals to right side and used to help stuff the legs.
Quick and easy sew, stuffing took longer than sewing together. I love this pattern and so does my kids. Thank you.
These are huge for what I expected but my niece loved it!
A really great, clear pattern with lots of photos and chatty advice that made for a fun sewing project. I made the huge Octi and the hardest part was stuffing the tentacles - took a lot of stuffing and patience :grin:
A simple and delightful pattern for all. Great for using scraps within the head (I preferred toy stuffing for tentacles as much softer). Daughter and Grandson love it and now on my second.

Hard to follow instructions
I've been sewing for 8 years and this was my first stuffie. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was. Instructions were clear and pieces went together seamlessly. Stuffing was a pain in the butt but that was no fault of the pattern :rofl:
