Kids Drawstring Dress
The Drawstring Dress is a simple yet elegant dress that can be worn in the comfort of your home, out and about, or even for a nice event. It has a drop sleeve and you can choose between long and short. What's even better is you can grab the adult dress to match your mini!
The kid's version of this dress is semi fitted. Please read through the instructions thoroughly and measure your child correctly when choosing a size. I highly suggest making a muslin out of cheaper fabric first to make sure you've got the correct fit before cutting into your favorite fabric!

Troubleshooting:
- If the whole pattern prints on a single page, you likely opened the wrong file (use Letter/A4, not A0 or Projector).

Customers praised this sewing pattern as "quick and easy" with "easy to follow instructions." Many noted the comfortable, stylish result and made multiple dresses. Some found the elastic waistband instructions confusing, especially non-English speakers. A few mentioned sizing runs small and bulky seams at the elastic join.
I love this dress and how comforable it looks. I made it a bit different because i find it easier that way. I made the top and bottom first and then i put it together and made a tunnel for the elastic. Last i added a faux drawstring.
So happy with how this turned out. It fits well and the drawstring adds a really cute touch.
The pattern is great, however it would be useful if: - there is a description if you use another fabric as stretch. (for summer I am totally fan of using cotton instead of FT or jersey) - all pictures in the instructions are made with the same 'example dress'. - in the instructions there is a description about the sewing of the short sleeves, that refers to page 18. However the instructions only have 16 pages...?? For all the rest this dress looks lovely on my daughter!

Personally I think making tunnel for the elastic is a better option for professional looking garments. However for a home use, it’s super easy!!! Any that I make forward I will sew the top and skirt together, then use twill tape and use one long piece of elastic versus two pieces. Then all the sewing it’s covered and the elastic is covered as well. Many babies have very sensitive skin and exposed elastic can irritate. But it was super cute!!!! Will be making more!!!
This is my new favorite pattern! I love how it’s comfy and stylish. It’s my daughter’s favorite dress to wear.
Loved to sew it 😍 I‘m not an English native speaker and struggled a little bit with the elastic. But the instruction has so many helpful pictures and I finally managed it 💪 Though I measured my daughter to find the right size, it turned out very short and tight. I would use a bigger size next time. But we love the result and find a new fav dress ❤️
Love the pattern. Made it for my three year old granddaughter. The sleeve and hem are just basted. Still playing around with the stripes on the sleeve and not sure of the length for her. I only used the directions for the elastic drawstring waist. Love all your patterns. This was quick and easy to sew!

Great pattern, super cute dress. My daughter loves it. I am a bit disappointed with the result as I did not quite understand how to sew the elastic waistband. I think more details in the instructions or more pictures of the sewn garnment- closer views- would have helped me. English is not my firsr language and sewing is another language in itself so pictures and videos definitely help my learning. Overall, a simple enough pattern for a cute and versatile dress! I will sew this one often!

It’s a much loved pattern in our house. I have made 5 for my daughters with more requested by them.
I found the instructions for adding the waist elastic a little confusing. I also didn’t get my buttons holes to line up correctly with the folded casing. It would be wonderful if there was another way to add the elastic as the side seams where the elastic joins is also very bulking, so many fabric layers, plus the elastic. The finished dress is lovely
