Half Zip Sweater
This half-zip pullover sweater is going to change your fall-wardrobe game. The mock turtleneck collar and front kangaroo pocket give it an elevated twist while being ever so comfortable. The separate pieces on the top and bottom make this pattern perfect for color blocking and scrap busting! The zipper instructions are very clear and easy to follow, so if you've never sewn a zipper before, this is an awesome pattern to start with! In fact, this pattern was the first zipper for several of our testers. The pattern comes in sizes NB - 9/10 and includes options for hood or collar.

I have already gotten so many compliments on this pattern. I had a little trouble with the collar. I didn’t see there was a video tutorial until after I completed it, but that definitely helped a lot and will use those tips for the next ones! I paired it with the weekender pants and love the combo.
I made this in between 0-3 and 3-6 for a 12lb 3 month old. Polartec power grid hw and foe for finishing. No pocket. The instructions are very straight forward and the cutest finished product!
I made this right after purchase and it went relatively smoothly. I am not a new sewist but made the mistake of using a metal zipper and nearly lost my mind when I kept breaking needles while sewing/ serging over the bottom of the zipper. So, don't do that. The instructions were very clear, much better than I have seen from other companies. There is obviously a lot of care put into them. My kid also fit perfectly into his size, something that doesn't happen often so it was nice not to have to make a bunch of adjustments. As for how it was received; he wouldn't take it off and wore it for three days straight. It's a winner.
I greatly enjoyed sewing this sweater. I made two. 1 for my grandson 6 year old and 1 for my grandson almost 1 year old. The zipper gave me some struggle mostly because of the fabric. I Will surely use this pattern very often. I made some mods. I did cuffs and waistband not separate but cut the fabric longer and did elastic in the hems.
I love this pattern! I've made 3 already & have 2 more to sew up & those were just for my 2 kiddos! I'm planning on getting all the other sizes! My husband has now asked for me to make him one & I've had several family friends reach out asking!
Such a fun style. I was nervous to try zippers but really wanted to sew up this half zip. The instructions were easy to follow. My kids are so excited with their half zip tops. I used rib knit fabric.
This pattern was easy to cut, easy to assemble, and easy to sew - just as advertised! The instructions were pretty clear, though I definitely recommend watching the zipper video as it made a world of difference! I wish there had been a little more guidance on the selection of materials. I picked a sports cotton that was soft and plush, and perfect for a cozy sweater, but in some sections there are 4 or more layers of thick fabric sewn together and that impacted the end look and feel of the sweater. Also, a new and sharp needle would have made this project easier given these heavy and bulky layers. I will be making this sweater again and again, but with a lighter weight fabric next time !
I have made a bunch of the size 12-18mnth size for colleagues and family. They sew up fairly quickly and have good instructions - if you’re a beginner the zip could be a bit confusing but it makes sense once you start (and the fold over piece at the top of the zip is a lovely comfort addition). The fit is good and the generous pocket is excellent for warming hands or collecting treasures

For Christmas all my child asked for was a quarter zip. Once I found this I knew all his Christmas wishes would come true. I was able to wip it up in one afternoon, while he was at school. and HE was so happy with it. I imagine I will be making this in all sizes!
The instructions were very difficult to follow. Luckily, there was a tutorial on YouTube for producing the sweatshirt. I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner. I had, mostly, difficulty with the biais tape. But, it is a beautiful sweatshirt !

I sewed this up in an evening. It was easy to follow, the steps for the zip were painless and gave gorgeous results (my best zip ever!) and the result is a beautiful garment that I’m super proud of. This was my first Lowland Kids pattern but certainly won’t be my last! I used wonder tape for the zip which I’d highly recommend.
I'm incredibly new to sewing but saw this pattern and knew I wanted to try. It took me a bit to read through the instructions and I looked up some terms multiple times to make sure I had it right. But it's my first wearable garment and people always ask where we bought it from! It's an absolute joy to let them know I made it.
Super clear instructions which made the sweater easy to make! I made mine with the collar and without the pocket. The zipper guard is such a great new skill to have learnt. I definitely recommend this pattern to anyone wanting to make a sweater for their little one. Can't wait to make another
