Cargo Pants
These cargo pants are a loose fitting pant with a shorts option. They featuring large front pockets, a back pocket with a flap and elastic at the ankles (1"). You can use woven or knit with this pattern however we suggest sizing up in width if using woven. The waist calls for 1.5" elastic but if you want a different look or sewing for a child with cloth diapers you can swap out for a smaller thickness if desired.

Customers praised this versatile pattern for being "easy to follow" and producing great-fitting pants and shorts in both knit and woven fabrics. Many loved the pockets, with one noting their child adores "all the places he can put his rocks." Some suggested improvements to the elastic waistband method, preferring a casing over direct attachment.
The pattern is easy to follow. I put a smaller elastic in it, and made it 40cm instead of 37cm as the instruction said, because it looked very small to me. I hope the elastic in de ankles doesn't fit tight. It has a big bump at the insideseam, because you seam them together. Maybe sew the elastic too the fabric leaving a 0. 6cm free when you sew the inside legs? I also put the front pockets in place at the top with a little stitch, or else it would stay open when stitching the elastic band. Next time I'm stitching the band, then put the elastic in place and stitch it too the sides so it doesn't curle.
I made pants and shorts in a variety of sizes. I used woven fabric and sized up - this worked out well.

Nice and sporty short. Ik maar the legs a little bit longer and the next short i make will be with a separate waistband. I used a French Terry and this was almost too thick .

Very fun easy pants pattern! I enjoyed creating them out of 100% cotton, I blended sizes 3-4 for the first and 5-3 for the second and they come out perfect! My sons love them, and they looked so cute in their "pumpkin pants" as they called them :p I'd say that the waist elastic fit better with a 1" instead of the recommended 1.5" but that could just be since I made it out of woven and it gave my son the extra length to move in them better. Can't wait to try them in knit!

I haven’t yet tried the pants version since we’re prepping our summer wardrobe right now. But I LOVE the shorts!! They sew up fairly quick, the back pockets did take me a bit to press and attach. Front pockets are super simple and similar to other lowland patterns (like the Playday Pants). I love the option of adding or not having the back pocket. For this particular set I think it helped tie everything together! I made my shorts with bamboo FT and they’re so stretchy and comfy for my boys to run and play in all summer! I can already foresee several pairs of cargo shorts being added to our summer lineup! I love that these are longer and looser than the Play shorts and swim shorts (which I have used for everyday wear, too). Cant wait to try the pants out this fall!! I made the shorts 7-9 months in French terry. Very easy to sew thanks to your easy to follow instructions. They fitted the little man very well and he looked gorgeous in them. I will be making the long version very soon.
I love the cargo pants pattern but I did find the waist a bit bulky made with stretch sweatshirt fleece. I followed the sew and fold over instructions but I m think I would like the look and feel of the waist more if I made a channel for the elastic and just threaded it through. I could make it neater if I weren’t trying to stretch and sew at the same time. Maybe it would be easier with a server; I only have a regular sewing machine.

Un patron très facile et rapide à coudre, un gros plus pour ceux-celles qui ont peu de temps ou veulent un projet vite fait. La coupe est belle et gros plus pour moi que ça soit réalisable en tissé ou tricot. Je n'ai pas encore vu sur bébé. La grosse déception pour moi est au niveau des finitions (élastiques du bas, poche arrière). À mon avis, si le patron veut offrir une façon de faire vite fait, il faudrait aussi proposer une explication avec les finitions plus propres.
Easy to follow most of the time, great for beginners though some images of attaching elastic could be clearer, maybe not have a white background with white elastic, other than that an overall great pattern.
I like the cut of these pants, but find the quick elastic insertion method to be a bit clumsy. I’ve often adapt the pattern to add cuffs.
Love this pattern for my 2 year old! Very easy to understand the sewing steps, great fitting and my son loves the pockets! Can recommend this pattern to anyone! A short version will follow soon!
The fit is great! The pattern is easy to follow along and will continue to make more. The only criticism I have, and I am by NO MEANS a sewist, is I wished the waistband had a casing instead of sewing the elastic itself. My twin needle refused to go through the multiple layers and had to use a heavyweight needle.

Absolutely love these cargo pants. I've already cut out another pair, ready to sew up. Clear instructions and they look great on my daughter too.
The pattern is great! Instructions are super easy to follow. I made a small changes as I prefer to use rib on the waist and ankles istead of turning. With the size chart I was able to choose the right size for my kid and they're really comfort, a bit loose fit. Big enough pockets are great too! Definitely gonna use the pattern to sew more pants for my kid.
