Swim Briefs
We may be biased but these swim briefs are swim perfection! All of the kiddos who tested these out insisted on wearing them even after pictures.
Features include: optional applique pocket, optional working drawstring (recommended), and a liner of course (though if I have thick swim fabric i've been able to get away with not using a liner for the younger ones).
On sizes 6/7-9/10 there is a "wider" version option for kids whose hips might be a little wider than the current Lowland size chart. See instructions for more details.

Troubleshooting:
- If the whole pattern prints on a single page, you likely opened the wrong file (use Letter/A4, not A0 or Projector).

Customers said this sewing pattern produces "super cute" and comfortable swim briefs with clear, easy-to-follow instructions. The pattern is "perfect for beginners" learning swimwear construction and offers true-to-size fit with pockets and drawstring. Some found the waistband assembly tricky, preferring elastic threading methods.
I would say the sew up was a little tricky. The waist band in particular. Honestly, I’d prefer to pull the elastic through which is much easier than trying to get four pieces of knit and an elastic band to cooperate and sew and stretch at the same time. That method left my band less desirable.
I loved the result of these. I'm new to sewing swim and lining but I'm happy with the result. Also gives an option for a regular fit and wide fit. I went with the regular fit.

It’s very hard to find swim briefs that fits! Working draw string and pockets for all the sand and seashells to collect! Great pattern a must have!
This was my first pattern I sewed using swim fabric so I feel like that was the difficulty not the pattern. I did have a difficult time telling which was the fronts vs the backs so next time I will mark them better but otherwise it sewed up nicely. Just such slinky fabric to use. I think I will improve with time or perhaps glue!

The instructions are very clear and I like the method of sewing the main fabric and lining to the waistband so that all the seams are covered.

I sewed up the swim briefs as part of matching swim set for the whole family and they were such a breeze to sew up. My very picky four year old loved them and wants "lots more just like these". I think this pattern will be part of our regular rotation for our summer wardrobe.

I love this pattern its perfect for both boys and girls. I prefer for my girl to have more coverage not only at the beach but at the splash pad too. It helps minimize the amount of sunscreen that needs to be applies. As for sewing swim this is a great pattern to learn on, easy to follow and great end result.
